The Instrumentation Technician utilizes trade knowledge in a specialized field of industrial instrumentation, a continuing education evaluation through appropriate external evaluative entities, and practical experience in equipment maintenance. This position troubleshoots and performs any type of preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance to Water Department equipment and facilities. Must receive passing score (70%) on pre-employment exam.

**Education**: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

**Experience**: One year experience in related functions.

**License & Certification**: Valid vehicle operator license. Must possess/obtain a valid class B CDL Driver’s License with air brake and Tanker endorsements within 1 year of employment. Must obtain the MDE Operator-in-Training Wastewater Certification within 3-months of date of hire. MD State Journeyman Certificate and or Master Electrician License desired.

**Physical Activities and Requirements**: Defined as very heavy work, exerting in excess of 100 lbs. of force to move objects occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly.

**Essential Functions**: Examples of duties but are not limited to: Troubleshoot and maintain SCADA equipment, touchscreens (HMI), variable frequency drives, networking equipment and electrical equipment. Performs preventative, routine, emergency, and/or technical maintenance on Waste Water Collection Department instrumentation, equipment, buildings, and structures; Provides direction for subordinate Waste Water Collection Operators;
