Assistant Manager

Assistant manager will be expected to work Friday-Tuesday each week and will receive Wednesdays and Thursdays off.
This job includes ensuring the daily operations of the store are complete and the standards are being met by each and every store associate. In addition the assistant manager will be running the front of the house operations and will be forward facing with all customers. The assistant manager will report directly to the Store Manager.
Play Street Museum hosts private events and birthday parties on the weekends and the assistant manager will be expected to lead those events and parties and make sure the staff is also doing so properly. Any staff member that works the birthday parties has the potential to make $200+ in tips per weekend.
The assistant manager will be expected to be forward-thinking. Although there will be support provided from the Store Manager, this position requires someone that possesses decision-making skills as well as the ability to plan and prepare for what is to come.
About Play Street Museum
Play Street Museum (PSM) is a clean, upscale, and educationally focused children's museum where kids eight and under are entertained in a stimulating learning environment of creative and dramatic play. Our vision at Play Street Museum is to inspire the world through play and our mission is to provide superior quality play and educational experiences for young children and their families.
Duties & Responsibilities
- We are currently hiring for a full time Assistant Manager position for Friday-Tuesday each week.
- The Assistant Manager will be responsible for running special events and private birthday parties hosted at the museum. (Tips for staff members are not guaranteed but possible for all events & birthday parties)
- Provides excellent customer service in person and while answering phone inquiries.
- Opens and closes the museum as needed.
- Keeps all areas of the museum clean including transitioning and resetting the museum after every play session.
- Greets customers and registers them to play.
- Implements any and all procedures during an emergency.
- Promptly reports all guest service issues to the Store Manager but is expected to handle and diffuse any guest experience issue.
Qualifications:
- Previous management experience preferred.
- Experience with children preferred.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours at a time, bend and lift 25 lbs.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Time Management Skills
- Must be able to manage tasks quickly and efficiently.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must provide documentation of legal U.S. residency.
