Quality Community Health Center ,a FQHC operating for 41 years, provides service at 3 locations in Philadelphia, PA managing the health and wellness of patients from infants through senior citizens. We practice medicine as a partnership between us and our patients. Currently, we are seeking a full-time Environmental Services Associate. The ESA is responsible for promoting the highest standard of safety and cleanliness in a cost efficient manner; maintaining environmental services equipment and supplies; performing cleaning and custodial tasks.
**Essential Functions and Basic Duties**:
**Custodial Maintenance**
- Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency for all health center sites.
- Assist department Supervisor in maintaining inventory and recommend selection of suitable custodial supplies
- Sweeps and wet and dry mop floors
- Wipes all point of touch surfaces with disinfectant
- Cleans, dusts, washes and polishes surfaces. This includes all interior and exterior walls, floors, ceilings and fixtures
- Waxes floors and operates buffing machines
- Vacuums and cares for carpeting
- Moves furniture and performs set up for meetings as required
- Checks heating and air conditioning for proper operation
- Responds to work requests in a timely fashion
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Stocks service cart with appropriate supplies and transports to work area.
- Replenishes expendable items in restrooms such as toilet paper, paper towels and soap.
- Collects, separates and transports trash outside or to holding areas including general, infectious and recyclable trash.
- Maintains equipment for cleanliness and safety
- Observes and reports the need to repair equipment, furniture, fixtures and problems concerning the building.
**Ground Keeping**
- Cuts lawns using push power movers
- Trims and edges around sidewalks, driveways, and flower beds using power equipment
- Prunes shrubs and trees
- Cleans grounds and removes litter
- Removes graffiti
- Keeps all storm drain inlets clear of leaves and debris.
- Power washes and cleans sidewalks
- Participate in snow removal at all QCHC sites and properties
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Knowledge of health care systems and related services
- Working knowledge of custodial machinery and chemicals
- Good oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle many details and multiple priorities. Must show ability to work independently, organize, process, and verify details
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 1-2 years professional experience required
- Knowledge within health care environmental service techniques, practices and procedures (preferred)
- Lift a minimum of 25 pounds using good body mechanics
- Perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the day to complete the requirements of the job.
- Possess a valid driver’s license (preferred)
Pay: $15.00 per hour
