Manufacturing Associate
The company is developing a revolutionary technology for recycling industrial metal waste by converting metal particles into high value metal briquettes. Metal particles are typically generated in a manufacturing process such as machining. Machining typically requires cooling fluids. These fluids contaminate the metal powder which is typically sold to a scrap dealer for low value. Using proprietary technology the manufacturing company can process those chips into clean higher value briquettes.
The process includes: 1) Compression of the chips into a briquette. This removes up to 90% of cutting fluid. 2) Processing the briquette through the proprietary SM microwave process which removes the remaining fluid and partially sinters the briquette.
The group's role is to run Proof of Concept testing (small qty) on new metal materials and contaminants to determine feasibility of the SM process and to run Benchmark testing (large qty) to determine suitability for specific customer requirements.
