Window Messenger

We have a challenging opportunity for a **Ground Courier/Window Messenger** at our 580 Fifth Avenue location in NYC**.**

**Pay Rate**:$22

**Job Summary**:
The Ground Courier/Window Messenger is responsible for escorting and delivering, on foot, shipments to and from customer locations primarily within the area known as the “diamond or jewelry” district of NYC as will as at NY Window (area within Brink’s Office designated for the customers to pick up/drop off their shipments). This position functions in an armed environment. This position requires the enforcement of rules to protect the premises and property of Brink’s and its customers and in transit whether that be on foot or via armored vehicle. Where necessary the position will serve to provide security protection for all necessary Brinks premises, employees, customers, and liability contained therein.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Delivers and picks up customer shipments and liability in coordination with Customer Service and other BGS locations both at the Customers locations and NY Window.
- Maintains communication with ground support at origin and destination locations and always maintains a secured position to ensure the safety of the team, customers, and customer shipments in their possession.
- Handle via online, in person and via telephone inquiries regarding established pricing for regular shipping lanes. Answer inquiries regarding services and specialized services for the assigned business segment and assist all customers with general inquiries regarding BGS business products.
- Enter and update data relative to shipments into computer database.
- Ensure the proper flow of electronic and other communications to/from affiliates, customs brokers, and clients
- Handle service complaints diplomatically, on time and with urgency, channeling complaint to appropriate department personnel.
- Make sure rates in BITS are correct, and that the billing is accurate & timely.
- Enforces and reports all security or safety violations to the Supervisor/Manager as well as any unusual and suspicious situations that have occurred during daily assignments
- Provides internal location security and works closely with other operational teams at the base of origin to ensure that all customer shipments, pick-ups and deliveries are made according to pre-arranged agreements.
- Must ensure that all related documentation that is part of the internal and external logistics process are completed and documented appropriately in accordance with all company policies.
- Provide outstanding customer service at all times and where necessary report customer service issues to operations leadership for resolution.
- Assist other members of the department, as needed, in order to ensure that arrangements are made for the proper transportation, clearance, import, export, and routing of parcels.
- Cross-train and perform other duties as assigned

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Be at least 21 years of age
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a courier or guard
- A currently valid driver’s license
- Valid firearms permit or ability to pass applicable firearms licensing requirements
- A valid guard card or ability to obtain a guard card or any other required licenses
- Able to work weekends, holidays and/or extended hours
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds
