The selected individual will secure our premises by monitoring all persons entering the facility, as well as identify risks to students, staff, and patrons.

**Responsibilities**:

- Monitor front door to determine that all parties entering are authorized to be on-site and verify their identity
- Be a friendly but firm presence to all parents and members of the Brooklyn Music School community
- Help to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules
- Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security
- Warn violators of premise rules and regulations
- Apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
- Assist with implementing required fire drill and lockdown procedures
- Request emergency personnel for high-risk situations

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or other related fields
- Possession of a F-07 certification a plus, required to obtain if not (company pays for this)
- Ability to work with sign in and authorization system and resolve questions in an efficient and friendly manner
- Familiarity with security equipment
- Strong attention to detail
- Engaging personality for an institution geared to children and families
- Love of music and education is a plus
- Punctuality and reliability is essential
- Desire to be part of a fast-growing, warm organization that serves the community with education, culture and arts

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Experience level:

- 2 years

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person
