This is an onsite position, and no relocation assistance is provided. Must be a US Citizen Job Description: Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, troubleshoots, modifies, constructs, and tests mechanical equipment and related devices Troubleshoots and corrects structural placement Makes recommendations for improvements or modifications to correct problems May provide operation and maintenance instruction to customer personnel Performs preventative maintenance Participates in special projects, as required Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, cables, equipment, and appliances. Uses hand tools and testing equipment Inspects and tests electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using general and specialized testing equipment Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures Mounts motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications Works from drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures Participates in special projects as required Requirements: US Citizen Associates Degree or equivalent years of related experience Shipboard electrician 1+ years of experience GDIT IS YOUR PLACE At GDIT, the mission is our purpose, and our people are at the center of everything we do. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
