The leader partners with senior leaders to prioritize revenue‑driving, donor‑engagement initiatives and aligns marketing technology resources to foster cross‑team collaboration and efficiency. The leader implements innovative digital tools and optimizes web platforms to enhance business processes, personalized donor interactions, accessibility, and system integration, while adopting emerging technologies to sustain digital leadership. Operationally, this role manages a $6.5M budget and 43 FTEs, establishes KPIs to monitor performance, and ensures all solutions are scalable, secure, compliant, and aligned across Communications & Marketing and Philanthropy IS. It builds strong stakeholder relationships, advises senior leadership on technology strategy, and develops a high‑performing team through mentoring, feedback, and professional growth opportunities. Vision – Strategy – Leadership Develop and execute a comprehensive vision and strategy for philanthropy technologies and enterprise web platforms that align with Dana‑Farber’s mission and fundraising goals. Lead the organization to the cutting edge of technology, ensuring competitive positioning in the philanthropic and online marketplace. Partner with senior leadership, including the Deputy Chief of Philanthropy and Communications & Marketing leaders, to identify and prioritize technology initiatives that drive revenue growth and enhance donor engagement. Oversee the integration of marketing technology resources to align tools, skill sets, and efforts across teams, fostering collaboration and efficiency. Technology – Innovation – Implementation Implement innovative technologies to improve business processes, enhance donor interactions and management, and optimize online engagement. Drive the development and deployment of digital tools that support fundraising campaigns, donor retention, and personalized engagement strategies. Oversee the optimization of enterprise web platforms to ensure seamless user experiences, accessibility, and integration with donor systems. Identify and adopt emerging technologies that position Dana‑Farber as a leader in philanthropy and digital innovation. Operational Leadership – Performance Management Manage a $6.5M operating budget and lead a team of 43 FTEs, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet organizational priorities. Establish annual metrics and KPIs to the performance of IT systems and services, driving continuous improvement and alignment with organizational goals. Oversee the alignment of tools and skill sets across the Communications & Marketing technology team and Philanthropy IS, ensuring cohesive and efficient operations. Ensure all technology initiatives are scalable, secure, and compliant with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. Collaboration – Stakeholder Engagement Partner with business leaders in Philanthropy, Communications & Marketing, and other departments to understand their needs and deliver technology solutions that achieve Institute goals. Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and collaboration across teams. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on technology strategies and innovations. Team Leadership – Development Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of technology professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement strategies to support team success. Promote professional growth and development opportunities for team members, ensuring they are equipped to meet the organization’s evolving needs. BA or BS required; MBA, MS in Information Technology, or related field preferred. Minimum of 15 years of experience in technology strategy, digital transformation, and enterprise IT management. Experience in nonprofit or philanthropy‑focused organizations strongly preferred. Minimum of 8 years of supervisory/management experience, with a proven track record of leading diverse teams. Demonstrated success in implementing innovative technologies to drive revenue growth and enhance donor engagement. Extensive experience with data‑driven decision‑making, performance analytics, and KPI development. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Exceptional strategic thinking and leadership skills, with the ability to develop and execute a long‑term vision. Deep expertise in philanthropy technologies, enterprise web platforms, and digital engagement strategies. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to evaluate opportunities and make informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and foster collaboration across diverse teams. Pay Transparency Statement The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications. For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). $275,400 - $294,600.
