Overview: Under broad discretion, this senior compliance counsel role will report to either the Western Hemisphere Compliance Manager or the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer. As a collaborative leader among the Global Ethics & Compliance team, the successful candidate will have substantial expertise in compliance processes and investigations and will be responsible for advising the company concerning a variety of complex legal issues related to compliance and investigations. Responsibilities include: Undertaking a wide range of responsibilities, primarily involving the Company's Code of Business Conduct (COBC) and compliance policies Conducting internal investigations, including formulating investigation strategies, analyzing evidence, and conducting investigatory interviews Participating in compliance reviews (audits) and risk assessments Evaluating and recommending process enhancements to drive compliance Assisting with special projects, benchmarking research, legal initiatives, and other administrative duties Requirements: Licensed to practice law in the US, a J.D. or L.L.M. is required 5 years legal experience in compliance, either as outside counsel or in-house counsel A Bachelors degree is required, while a Masters degree is preferred Willing to travel internationally Preferred Qualifications: Spanish and/or Arabic language skills Oilfield experience Both in-house and outside counsel experience Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher-level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs.
