About the Role Were hiring a handson Founding Head of Engineering to lead and scale our technical vision with high ownership and accountability. You will build both the product and the team alongside the founder, owning the architecture and execution that drives speed, reliability, and excellence. Together, we will define what done right means at startup pace. Hybrid, Bostonbased (23 days/week in person). Key Responsibilities Product Architecture & Technical Leadership Define and evolve architecture that manages complex, interrelated data at scale Drive decisions on frameworks, infrastructure, and scalability while balancing speed Implement observability, auditability and continuous improvement strategy across services and data layer Make pragmatic build/buy decisions with clear cost, risk, and lockin tradeoffs Software Development & Delivery Lead development from prototype to production with tight feedback loops Build modular services for document ingestion, data modeling, and workflow automation Translate ambiguous requirements into deliverables and measurable outcomes Maintain bias toward simplicity, clarity, and integrity Team Building & Engineering Leadership Recruit, mentor, and inspire a small, elite team focused on results Foster a culture of ownership, growth, and reciprocity. Serve as both handson contributor and technical leader Infrastructure, Security & Operations Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and environment isolation Oversee uptime, performance monitoring, and incident response Ensure compliance with enterprise security and medical device standards Who You Are Youre a builder with integrity. Compensation and Benefits Compensation: $160,000 - $200,000 based on experience + meaningful early equity.
