The K-12 Inside Sales Representative’s responsibility is to provide quality service and support to Upper Lakes Foods customers in our education segment through active engagement and management of the customer experience. This position will work to keep customer satisfaction at a high level through project management, daily task follow-through, and excellent customer service. A K-12 Inside Sales Representative demonstrates a willingness to act when necessary to meet the needs of customers all while accurately assessing workflow for optimal growth, efficiency, and productivity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process and follow orders from entry to shipping
Ensuring order accuracy and set parameters are met
Projecting monthly item sales
Monitors inventory levels
Utilize XRS for on-time delivery schedule of daily routes
Provide quick, positive response to customer requests
Process special orders
Communication of inventory status to merchandising
Focus on K12 specific items, new items and slow movement items
Focus on change in purchase level
Review daily reports
Check fill
Outs & Subs
End of Day
On Hand Special Orders
Identifies and closes additional purchases of products and services to customers
Continuously seeks opportunities for customers utilizing enhanced profitability model
Remains knowledgeable and up-to-date on changes and developments in the food industry, specifically in the K-12 segment.
Request menus from districts and enter menu projections in Target system
Projection review by school district (bi-weekly and monthly)
Coordinate delivery schedules with customers
Coordinate summer school delivery and menu
Large emphasis on ramp up for beginning of school year/ramp down for end of year
Request and record district’s discontinued list (end of year) and new items, NOI, MSFBG and Commodity Surveys
Update order guides for districts
Utilize TrackMax and Target systems for sales reports
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED:
Work with Bid dept to ensure bid pricing is entered for districts
Attend and support K-12 Connect Event, sponsored by ULF
Attend industry trade shows as needed
Maintains positive relationship with K-12 supplier partners
Coordinate samples between customers, sales, and supplier partners
Look for opportunities to move product from Inventory Reduction form
Coordinate recall activity for districts
Mail rebates to customers
Provide back-up coverage for the team
Meet all deadlines as directed
Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Company, suppliers and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.

Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
2-4 years working in the customer service field
Skills
Knowledge and proficiency of the following systems: Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as the Internet.
Ability to operate basic office equipment; i.e. copy machine, fax machine and scanner
Ability to be flexible, to be fair, and to function under pressure.
Great organizational and multi-tasking skills, along with the ability to think critically and solve problems.
Must be able to complete a project from beginning to end.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with Upper Lakes Foods, Inc customers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
K-12 dietary guideline knowledge is not necessary, but must be willing to learn through MDE webinars, trainings, vendor shows, etc. to apply learned knowledge to every day communication with customers.
Physical and Mental Demands and Working Conditions
Typical office environment with shelves overhead and above work surfaces
Sitting at workstation 85% of work time. Standing/walking bending, and reaching, and lifting and carrying of light loads approximately 15%.
