Our Opportunity



We are currently seeking a Principal Engineer for our Civil & Structural Engineering Practice in Seattle, WA.  We are looking for experienced consultants to help lead and further expand our Architectural Engineering and Building Technology consulting efforts, as well as contribute to the continued growth of our practice.




You will be responsible for



Developing a profitable and dynamic architectural engineering and building technology consulting practice based in Exponent’s Seattle office serving the Pacific NorthwestIdentifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities and promoting Exponent through typical business contactsRecruiting, developing and mentoring staff in the areas of architectural and structural engineering, failure analysis and investigation, and both domestic and international dispute resolutionPromoting Exponent's expertise in architectural and structural engineering by meeting with potential clients, presenting at conferences and conducting seminars




You will have the following skills and qualifications



Master's degree in Civil, Architectural, or Structural Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of experienceProfessional Engineering License (or ability to obtain license within 12 months) in the State of WashingtonEffective leadership skills with the ability to positively interact with professionals, technical staff, and administrative staffAn outstanding professional reputation with an existing client baseExperience providing expert testimony in a dispute resolution settingSignificant experience in construction claims, dispute resolution, and litigation servicesProven business development and client management track record, and the ability to attract projects to support full-time staffApplicants are encouraged to submit a CV with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not restricted to 1 page].

Compensation



Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Manager level and above total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities, which will be assessed during the interview process.




Salary Range




USD $175,000.00 - USD $275,000.00 /Yr.
