The Sales Representative role is based in Syracuse, NY and reports directly to the RMC Area Manager.

What You’ll Get to Do

  • Orchestrate day to day activities including, but limited to, quoting, reporting, backlog entry, daily sales edits, and project creation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers by having regular site/office visits to stay proactive and informed in the market.
  • Identify new sales opportunities through market research, lead generation, networking, and attending industry events.
  • Ensure constant communication with operations, dispatch, and quality control teams to provide proper quality/service to customers.
  • Become the subject matter expert for your customers by staying up to date on HM business training and education opportunities while educating customers of HM technological offerings.
  • Share market insights with the Area Manager to adapt and refine approaches, ensuring RMC remains competitive.
  • Build a strong safety culture & ensure compliance with all safety & environmental regulations.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent years of construction materials industry experience
  • A proven track record that shows sales growth through self-motivation
  • Intermediate skills in MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Outstanding relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must reside within reasonable commuting distance to Syracuse, NY

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 3-5 years in the building materials industry
  • Experience in Ready Mix Concrete materials industry preferred.

Work Environment

  • Role operates primarily a professional office environment, but requires conducting business frequently at job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels.
