Overview Neonatal Physician Assistant - Leading South Florida Children's Hospital Responsibilities Pediatrix Medical Group of Florida, is seeking a full-time Neonatal Physician Assistant to join our respected neonatology practice at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, a U.S. News-ranked children's hospital and the largest NICU in Broward County. * Joe DiMaggio NICU has 62 Level-IV NICU beds and 22 Level-II beds; average daily census of 70 and over 5,000 annual births * System-wide the two sister NICUs have 36 Level-III beds and an additional 8,000 annual births * Robust high-risk perinatal navigation program * Full complement of pediatric subspecialists * Care of full range of complex neonatal diagnoses * On site ECMO, therapeutic hypothermia, BPD programs, full range of ventilation modes including HFOV, HFJV, NAVA * Variety of shifts including 10-12 hour day shifts and 12-16 hour night shifts * Rotations to Memorial West and Memorial Miramar with 24 hour shifts About Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital (Memorial Healthcare) * Joe DiMaggio is part of the Memorial Healthcare System, the 4th largest public health system in the country and a quaternary trauma center * A 4-story vertical expansion was completed at Joe DiMaggio in 2023, as well as a women's and children's outpatient pavilion in the nearby Miramar facility * Memorial Healthcare received institutional ACGME accreditation in August 2015 and welcomed its first class of pediatric residents in 2018 * The NICU is one of only 11 Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Centers (RPICC) in Florida * The hospital offers free accommodations for families at its Conine Clubhouse on the hospital campus, while their babies receive expert care * Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital offers a comprehensive range of healthcare services, including heart transplant, kidney transplant, neurosurgery, hematology/oncology, and ECMO Pediatrix At a Glance * Locations: 1,190+ * Physicians: 2,595+ * Employees: 7,850+ * Specialties/Subspecialties: 25+ * Practices: 305+ * States and territories: 41 About the Hollywood/Ft Lauderdale area * Adjacent cities of Hollywood/Ft Lauderdale are a lively, diverse community with a combined population of approximately 300,000 * Nearly 32 miles of beautiful beaches make it a popular destination for tourists and residents * Known as the "Venice of America" for its numerous canals and waterways, Fort Lauderdale is a top destination for boating enthusiasts * Hollywood features a brick paved Broadwalk that runs along the sand for over two miles with inviting cafes, boutiques and hotels, including the famous Margaritaville Resort * A warm, tropical climate offers average temperatures ranging from the mid-70s during the winter and mid-80s in the summer * Sports fans will enjoy several professional and college sports, including the Miami Dolphins, Miami Marlins, Miami Heat and Florida Panthers * The entire South Florida market offers a dynamic urban/suburban lifestyle with an abundance of cultural and recreational amenities Qualifications * Current certification through National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) * Minimum of a master's degree * Applicants must have completed a Neonatal PA training program or have current PA experience in a Neonatal ICU Benefits and Compensation Our clinicians enjoy a competitive compensation package with many locations offering sign on bonuses, relocation and tuition reimbursement.
