*Ophthalmic Technician Responsibilities:*

* Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave
* Practice urgency at all times with patient’s time, as well as doctor’s time and schedule
* Verify patient information by interviewing patient
* Records medical history, current medications, and confirms purpose of visit
* Checks condition of patient's eyes by observing pupils, muscles, visual acuity, and extraocular movements
* Required skills include dilation, refraction, pressures, and performing a variety of diagnostic tests including but not limited to; visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, auto refractor and topography
* Demonstrates working knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, symptoms and ocular medications
* General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by manager

Requirements:*Ophthalmic Technician Qualifications:*

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
* Must possess strong computer skills
* One-year related experience preferred
* COA or COT certification preferred but will consider otherwise qualified candidates with less experience
