Diesel Mechanic – Full-Time Position at United Salad Co.

FT/PT Status: Full Time
Shift: Day Shift (4am - 3pm)
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Hourly Rate: $28 - $32 (DOE)

United Salad Co., one of the largest family-owned distributors of fresh produce, grocery, and foodservice products in the Pacific Northwest, is seeking a motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. We service and maintain a fleet of over 200 vehicles, distributing produce to national and independent grocers, restaurants, schools, and other institutions from local farmers and growers worldwide.

Bonus Structure:

Job Responsibilities:

Diagnose, adjust, and repair Class A trucks and refrigerated trailers.
Maintain and service all equipment to Federal DOT standards.
Inspect and replace worn brake components. Experience with steering and suspension systems is desirable.
Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, power tools, pneumatic wrenches, and jacks.
Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and equipment lubrication.
Keep detailed documentation of all repairs and communicate the status of downed vehicles to the shop manager and dispatch.
Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper functioning.

Job Qualifications:

Must be 18+ years of age
Must provide own hand tools adequate for job functions
Valid driver’s license required
Minimum one year of truck and/or trailer repair experience
Unrestricted ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, squat, lift (up to 75 lbs.), push, pull, climb, and lie on back in a horizontal position for prolonged periods

Additional Requirements:

Position is contingent upon a successful background check, an acceptable motor vehicle record check, and the ability to pass a drug screen, including THC.
