Summary:   

As a Product Specialist, you’ll be a linchpin in the digital journey to clients’ financial security.  As a subject matter expert, you’ll tell the story of our digital products to our field of financial experts, create resources and craft communications for our field of financial experts.  You will be a trusted resource and advocate for the best possible digital experience with our talented Product Managers and business partners. 

Primary   Duties & Responsibilities :  

  • Be a subject matter expert on designated digital products  

  • Provide white glove service on escalations  

  • Be conduit between field and Digital Product Team to provide meaningful interactions and noise reduction; Conduct relationship calls with top influencers, build trusting relationships with field members  

  • Coordinate and plan Tech Hub at field events; Represent designated digital product(s) at field events; be a storyteller and present at Network Office days  

  • Serve as centralized communication channel to the Field regarding product developments, enhancements and upcoming releases; Craft communication and training around new functionality/releases for publication to the field; catalog changes in FCO; Train internal business partners on changes 

  • Monitor online communities to respond to field posts  

  • Have deep understanding of user feedback and sentiment to have in-depth discussions with product teams and business stakeholders to help drive strategy in digital product operating model and influence digital product roadmaps; Accountable for maintaining field-facing digital product roadmap  

  • Own the Technology Forecast and Top Tech Items slide deck for monthly distribution  

  • Serve as an escalation point for P2 team members 

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities :  

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years work experience in a related role 

  • 4-5 Years of prior experience working with the NM field; and as a Product Specialist 

  • Knowledge Preferred: Passion for digital product and storytelling; Solid business acumen; Excellent communication and presentation skills; Positive, productive relationships with the field; Deep understanding of digital product roadmap; Self-starter; Strong interpersonal skills; Adaptability 

  • Ability to travel  

  • Must have the ability to mentor others; Ability to communicate across multiple levels of the company 

  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information 

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$63,560.00

Pay Range - End:

$118,040.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Please note that the salary range listed in the posting is the standard pay structure. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
