Senior Grant Manager

Summary:
The Grant Manager (GM) plays a crucial role in identifying and securing funding for The Exodus Road’s programs and operations. This individual will manage the entire grant process, from researching opportunities and submitting proposals to ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and maintaining relationships with funders. The Grant Manager supports TER’s mission by securing resources that allow TER to continue disrupting human trafficking and supporting survivors.
Job Responsibilities
Funder Relationship Management
Build and sustain relationships with current and prospective grant funders.
Follow up with current and prospective grant funders with calls and emails for feedback on proposals and guidance on future applications.
Serve as a liaison between TER and grant-making organizations, communicating impact and program updates.
Represent TER at funder meetings, conferences, and networking events as needed.
Grant Prospecting and Proposal Development
Identify prospective grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
Decide priority applications together with Global Program team based on fit.
Prepare, write, and submit compelling grant proposals and letters of inquiry aligned with TER’s mission and goals.
Collaborate with Global Programs team to gather information for grant applications and reporting.
Grant Management and Compliance
Maintain accurate records of all proposals, awards, deadlines, and funder communications.
Track grant deliverables to ensure TER meets all grant requirements and deadlines.
Prepare and submit progress and financial reports as required by funders, working with program and finance teams for accurate data.
Strategic Development and Planning
Contribute to the strategic planning of TER’s grant program, identifying new funding sources for growth.
Recommend process improvements to streamline grant management and reporting.
Job Requirements
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of grant writing or management experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
Proven success in securing funding from foundations, corporations, and government grants.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, or a related field.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong research, writing, and editing skills, with the ability to craft persuasive proposals.
Experience with financial and compliance reporting for grant-funded projects.
Proficiency with CRM systems (Virtuous), grant prospecting software (Instrumental), and Google Suite.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple deadlines.
Commitment to The Exodus Road’s mission and values, with a passion for social impact.
What Does Success Look Like?
1st 90 Days: Familiarity with TER’s programs and funder landscape; completion of key proposal submissions; established relationships with program and finance teams.
6-Month Mark: Consistently contributing to grant-related goals, showing impact through successful proposals and funding.
End of 1st Year: On track with a growing portfolio of grant funding, with robust systems in place for reporting and compliance.
