Overview:

GovCIO is currently hiring for a ServiceNow Systems Engineer to provide design, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement support of a government IT enterprise application running on ServiceNow. This position will be located in Arlington, VA and will be a remote/hybrid position. This position requires creative thinking, effective problem-solving, and excellent communication to support and collaborate with both the customer and the cross-functional team supporting the application.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will gather information concerning the capabilities of customer products; investigate the technical capabilities of customer products and competing equipment and/or solutions; stays abreast of development in hardware and software. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and ensures requirements comply through formal verification methods. Translates high level product development strategies into network and system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall network and system development. Designs interfaces and brings network and system elements together so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements.

  • Coordinates the planning, design, and installation of software, using a combination of knowledge of engineering and programming within ServiceNow.
  • Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts.
  • Supports all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in an Agile environment.
  • Works closely with customers, end users, and a cross-functional application support team to drive the customer mission.
  • Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures.
  • Monitors system performance and implements performance tuning.
  • Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.
  • Support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities through DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) so that the system remains compliant with all DoD securiy policies and requirements.

Qualifications:

High School with 10+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

 

  • Excellent critical thinking, analytic, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing applications operating on the ServiceNow platform
  • Excellent communication skills both in writing and verbally
  • Effective collaboration skills and ability to communicate product designs and concepts clearly to the team
  • Experience and understanding of DoD policies, to include Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Experience in system requirements gathering, design, and deployment



Preferred Skills and Experience

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar field of study
  • 5+ years of experience with custom applications running on ServiceNow
  • A ServiceNow Technical Certification
  • Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot problems, identify resolutions, and enhancement the system
  • Up to date on industry best practices and trends within the IT community

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range: USD $145,000.00 - USD $165,000.00 /Yr.
