Maintenance Mechanic

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Respond to customer comfort calls. These are usually hot/cold calls caused by the failure of HVAC equipment or controls.

  • Troubleshoot, repair and or replace VAV boxes, PIU units, controllers, thermostats, valves, and valve controllers as required.

  • Complete preventive maintenance (PM) as assigned including performing general maintenance and repairs.

  • Assist senior mechanics with more complex tasks or major repairs/modifications.

  • Learn and demonstrate appropriate alarm responses to common PLC initiated alarms.

  • Exposed to commercial mechanical, electrical, and building systems.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all customers.

  • Must be able to organize your workload efficiently to meet all the customers’ needs.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with hand tools and test equipment.

  • Working knowledge and experience with the following facilities systems is preferred, HVAC, VAV, Dual Duct Terminal units (Hot Deck/Cold Deck) and associated pneumatic controls.

  • Ability to read and interpret basic layout drawings, system drawings and manufacturers' equipment specifications.

  • Knowledge of standard and maintenance practices.

  • High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
