Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Summary:

    Under the supervision of the Transportation Manager, the Paratransit Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of PACE participants. Including transport of paratransit (ambulatory and wheelchair-bound) participants, durable medical equipment, pharmacy and any other transportation as deemed necessary. Responsible for overall cleanliness and safety of the vehicle assigned on a daily basis. Responsible for communicating any safety issue(s) to the Transportation Manager. 

    What qualifications you will need:

    Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred Education: None Required License/Certification: NC Driver’s License, BLS, First Aid Preferred License: Class B CDL with P Endorsement Required Experience: One year experience working with and/or transporting the frail and elderly. Preferred Experience: Bus driver for schools or at risk populations. 

    • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • First Aid Basic must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • Class C License
