The Role:

Cognizant is looking for an experienced and innovative Wi-Fi Performance Tester to serve our diverse base of global clients. As a member of our team, you will work on cutting edge, broadband wifi routers with latest networking features that powers modern business. An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a diverse, collaborative, geographically distributed team. Similarly, the ideal candidate is an expert engineer who values the “team”, drives continuous improvement and is unafraid to challenge the legacy status quo with creative solutions.

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for creating and executing throughput and performance tests on high-speed Wi-Fi Routers

· Leverage hands on experience of working with performance testing tools such as IxChariot, Octoscope, iperf, Ixia etc. to test 802.11 b/g/n/ac/ax/be based Wifi routers.

· Create new test cases to test performance of Wi-Fi routers while they are running different set of networking features and in different network modes.

· Triage and debug issues found during testing of Wi-Fi routers and provide debug logs as well as evidence to support the defect found.

· Ensure design follows specifications and deliver superior engineering outcomes.

· Work in a team environments and mentor the junior team members.

· Strong contributor with a collaborative work style in building, crafting, and reviewing test cases.

Qualifications

· Hands on experience in performance testing and creating performance, throughput test cases from test plans, specifications, and requirements.

· Well verse with performance testing tools such as IxChariot, iperf, ixia, octoscope etc.

· Hands on experience in validating firmware / driver level testing for embedded systems

· Relevant experience & knowledge of Linux operating systems

· 5+ years of relevant experience working with networking devices such as routers, cable modems, gateways, wifi devices etc.

· Test execution using both manual and automated techniques.

· Reviewing, tracking, documenting, and summarizing test results.

· Strong triaging skills using TCP Dump / WireShark

· Familiarity with performance testing tools like iperf, IXIA, IXChariot, Octoscope, Network Chambers etc.

· Experience in using GIT, Subversion, Jenkins

· Relevant experience & knowledge in network protocols: TCP, HTTP

· Relevant experience & knowledge in IPv4 / IPv6

· Experience in Testrail, Jira, ALM, HP QC

· Experience in creating and implementing automated tests using Python and BDD framework is preferable.

· Experience in Python or robot framework is preferable.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until June 19th, 2024.

The annual salary for this position is between $52,000.00 to $127,700.00 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
