What we need
We are looking for an Advanced AutoCAD Designer to join our Structure and System Layout team within our Core Hardware Engineering organization. Your job will be to generate detailed AutoCAD system assembly drawings, construction focused drawing sets and Bill of Material releases in the creation of complex steel structures as well as large scale automation systems within our customer Distribution Centers. You will also be expected to create large steel structure drawings and assembly layouts of advanced automation systems. This opportunity will expose you to a wide variety of sales and engineering teams within our organization as well as customer’s architects, structural engineers, construction experts and leading edge technologies in the automation and robotics industries.
What you'll do
Exhibit solid working knowledge of AutoCAD tools and techniques such as Layers, External References, Dynamic Blocks and File Management.
Create and manage a set of comprehensive Facility and System level drawings, including plan, elevation and detail views.
Exhibit fluency in both 2D and 3D layout and design assignments.
Provide guidance, support, and expertise in design processes to team members.
Create and release Engineering Change Orders (ECO) of Bills of Material for core structure and other supporting assemblies of the Symbotic automation system.
Utilize your knowledge of structural steel components in the configuration and system release of large steel structures, including multi-disciplinary trades such as MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing).
Possess a team-based work ethic that exhibits a task and process driven focus as well as attention to detail and pride in work accomplished.
What you'll need
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the building and/or machinery industries.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience using AutoCAD.
AutoCAD specific certification(s) a plus.
Experience in Material Handling and/or Automation Systems a plus.
Our Environment
Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed bi-weekly.
