Have you ever had a loved one in the hospital? Then you know how important this role is. A Patient Care Technicians (PCT) role will give you the opportunity to serve as a liaison between healthcare professionals through strong people, customer service and critical thinking skills.

Job Summary

Performs clerical, receptionist and communication duties on the patient-care unit.  Performs bedside, physical care for patients, provides for patient hygiene and comfort.  Performs duties including assisting in the care, treatment and observation of the ill and/or injured as well as prepares rooms and equipment for use and keeps work areas clean and orderly.

Education and/or Experience

  • Less than high school education; up to one month related experience or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Due to the operation of certain power equipment, the legal minimum age for this job is 18 years.
  • Completion of the Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse courses for Iowa Mandatory Reporters within 90 days of employment and every 3 years thereafter.

 Work Schedule

  • Ability to work various shifts as scheduled, and to work every other weekend and holiday rotations

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

  • $17.50 - $23.00 per hour
