Medical Lab Technician

HealthCare Support is actively seeking a Medical Lab Technician to fill an opening with a healthcare system in Cumming, GA.

Daily Responsibilities for Medical Lab Technician:

  • Conduct a range of laboratory tests to gather data for diagnosing and treating diseases.
  • Operating advanced laboratory equipment and instruments, preparing specimens, and ensuring that laboratory operations comply with quality, safety, and privacy standards and regulations.
  • Shift:   12-hr (7p-7:30a) or 10-hr (9p-7:30a), weekend rotation expected

Required Qualifications for Medical Lab Technician:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
    • Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
  • Associate degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist.
    • Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
  • Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certification as a Medical Technologist.
    • Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
  • Grandfathered Medical Technologist by having previously qualified as a technologist on or before February 28, 1992 and current certification as a Medical Technologist.
    • Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
  • Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
  • Must submit to a Color-Acuity screening Test
