Primary Function: Coordinate, lead, and help manage all the technical aspects of the weaving operation in order to meet BGF's requirements and customer satisfaction.
Machines, Tools and Equipment used: General mechanical craft tools as required by loom type. Dornier looms,
electrical and gas-powered industrial truck, LDMS system; common hand tools, and devices for calculating, planning, organizing, and controlling job
Materials Used: Paper; Pen; Pencil; Data Sheets; Loom set-up sheets; P.M. Reports; various yarns; sandpaper, ruler,
etc.
Supervision: Plant Manager
Direction Exercised: None

Job Responsibilities:
1. Troubleshoot quality issues and identify reasons for machine stops; look for ways to attack reoccurring problems regarding quality and stops in general.
2. Meet with Plant Manager, on an as needed basis, to communicate on a variety of subjects, but specifically: safety, quality, production, production scheduling and equipment requirements.
3. Safety - Maintains safe work environment for all employees to perform their assigned tasks. Update/
Communicate monthly safety inspections and cover changes with Supervisor and Section Leaders.
4. Quality - Assist employees in maintaining highest quality standards. Ensure tasks are performed consistent with ISO work instructions; Maintain compliance with all ISO recording and report changes when necessary. Help control waste, rejects, and seconds. Follows up on any deviations on trials and/or set up sheets.
5. Cost/Efficiency - Help to control downtime and machinery malfunction.
6. Administration - Complete PO Requisition for parts, special items, and other necessary supplies as needed. Update specification sheets.
7. Manage the Reed program.
A. Monitor the placing of new reeds into the bin locations.
B. Oversee a periodic inventory of reeds.
C. Evaluate the performance old reeds running looms. Determine if they are causing a particular problem based on symptoms of loom and airflow reading of the reed.
D. Follow up on reeds removed from looms to see if replacing the reed corrected the problem.
E. Maintain contact with the reed vendors concerning reed problems
8. Coordinate and communicate with Vendors.
9. Oversee the PM checks of the Loom Technicians; cover any PM issues with Supervisor(s) and
Loom Technicians. Develop, implement and maintain an effective preventative maintenance program for all equipment and facility needs. Track trends of effectiveness of each where applicable
10. Assist with the Physical Inventory.
11. Oversee Supply Inventory.
12. Oversee Hot Melt operation and safety compliance
13. Handle the disposal of waste oil
14. Maintain appropriate communications with fellow managers relative to manufacturing objectives
15. Coordinate with the Supervisor(s), Section Leaders, and Loom Technicians, on a daily basis, as to weaving problems or loom maintenance problems.
16. Negotiate with vendors for cost savings of supplies and parts for weaving
17. Maintain assigned area in a clean, neat, orderly manner, so that the work area will reflect a safe and healthful work environment.
18. Other duties as assigned by Management.

Physical Requirements:
Activity Frequency, Amount, or Description

(x) Standing: 4 - 6 hours per 8-hour shift on concrete floor.
(x) Sitting: 4 to 6 hours per 8-hour shift to perform administrative duties.
(x) Moving (Self): Continuously over 85,000 square feet of Manufacturing area.
(x) Climbing: Up to 18" to inspect fabric on grading frame.
(x) Moving Materials: Lifting: As required to assist employees in their performance of jobs. May lift objects weighing up to 70 lbs. with assistance, up to 8 times per 8-hour shift. Personal lifting capacity cannot exceed 51 pounds.
(X) Pushing/Pulling: Objects to assist employee in running job. Frequency may be up to 500 times per
shift. Some objects may weigh up to 2000 pounds; to be moved with assistance using equipment provided.
(x) Hearing/Speaking: As needed to communicate. As needed to communicate with employees, customers, and suppliers.
(x) Reaching: To shoulder level to retrieve documents from file cabinets.
(x) Visual Acuity: 20/40 corrected distant vision. 20/30 corrected near vision.
(x) Bending/Stooping: To floor level as needed for inspection

Environmental/Safety Risk
1.Potential skin irritation.
2.Annual audiograms or as required by OSHA and Company policy.
3.Wear all PPE (personal protective equipment) as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior Technician/Technical Leadership Experience
Mandatory Qualifications
Must have a High School Diploma as defined by company policy or GED with demonstrated Technical Experience in Weaving preferred.
