Hurricane Health and Rehabilitation is looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and competent Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team Offering night and weekend differential pay as wellPurpose: Provide care in a manner that protects and promotes resident rights, dignity, self-determination and active participation.Duties and Responsibilities:Assist patients in daily living activities and provide comfort (i.e. feeding, bathing, toileting etc.).Assist physicians and nurses in medical procedures.Record patient health information (blood pressure, temperature etc.) and vital signs.Transfer patients to and from rooms, beds, wheelchairs or gurneys.Maintain the cleanliness of patient care environment (e.g. beds, bathrooms etc.).Prepare equipment and instruments for inspection and sterilization.Provide first aid services including wound care.Requirements and Qualifications:Must be actively state certified as a CNA.Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationUnderstand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance proceduresDisplays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance trainingPrior CNA experience is a plusPhysical Capacities: (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices)Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.Continuous bending, squatting, twisting and reaching.Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which includes an annual TB screening and physical examination.Must be able to stand for and walk for extended periods of time.Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.Requires infrequent lifting of weight up to 100+ pounds with assistance.Frequent pushing and pulling of carts and transporting residents.Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with persons who are ill, disabled, elderly and/or emotionally upset, and/or memory impaired.Must be able to manage resident behavior that includes verbal outbursts, combative behavior, striking out, and memory impairmentEnvironmental conditions:Inside work, normal temperatures, some noise, occasional fumes/odors, chemical exposure and potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.Hurricane Health and Rehabilitation is an equal opportunity employer, in accordance with anti-discrimination laws Hurricane Health and Rehabilitation prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type and affords equal employment opportunities to employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
