The Training Simulator Testing unit is responsible for deploying state-of-the-art, high fidelity simulators for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP). These simulators fulfill a critical training need to ensure effective and efficient qualification of Naval Nuclear Operators in the NNPP training program. In this position, the engineer will support aspects of initial design, testing, and deployment of the simulators to the NNPP training commands in Charleston, SC and West Milton, NY. Relocation is offered. This position will require some travel (~10%).



Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; Bachelor's degree in a technical related field from an accredited college or university with qualification as a Naval Nuclear Plant Operator and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience based on an exceptional performance trend; Master's degree in engineering or a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; Master's degree in a technical related field from an accredited college or university with qualification as a Naval Nuclear Plant Operator and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience based on an exceptional performance trend; Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part I qualified; or EDO and 2 years as EOOW in the Nuclear Operations Program; or 3 years as SRE and Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and Fuel and Barrier Shift Supervisor (ECF only); Health, Dental, Vision & Voluntary Benefits

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston. For nearly 70 years, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is a national asset solely dedicated to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. FMP is a government contractor and maintains a drug free workplace and workforce.
