JOB SUMMARY:

The Registered Nurse role assists with planning, organization, development, coordination, management and direction of the Nursing Department in its Programs and activities in accordance with current Federal, State and Local guidelines and regulations, accepted standards of practice and as may be directed by Administration and Director of Nursing.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:        Graduate of an accredited school of nursing as a Registered Nurse. Currently licensed in the State of New York as an R.N. Knowledge of MDS and care planning is a plus. IV Certification is a plus. Supervisory skills is a plus.

 

EXPERIENCE: Two years of clinical experience preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents and family members. Must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents, if necessary. Must demonstrate excellent verbal and auditory skills required for communication effectively and clearly with residents, families, physicians and subordinates.
