Job Specialty:** Operating Room
**Shift:** 10-hour day shift, 4x10 schedule, 07:00-17:15. On-call one night a week and one weekend a month.
**Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
**Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interviews, and review of medical records and clinical data.
- Develop and implement patient care plans and observe outcomes in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions, including IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
- Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health, safety, and rights of patients.
- Recognize patients or their designees as full partners in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on preferences, values, and needs.
- Deliver care with respect for cultural differences and the diversity of human experience.
- Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel in accordance with state board of nursing and hospital policy.
- Use time, personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Serve as a professional role model and mentor for staff and nursing students.
- Manage resources and patient flow by matching nursing competencies with patient and unit needs.
- Adhere to standards of care, hospital policies/procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams to achieve quality patient care.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities.
- Use current healthcare research findings to expand knowledge and enhance role performance.
- Float to other locations as required, complying with policy requirements.
