Job Description We are seeking a National Sales Director to fully develop a specific Group Market Segment within a designated geographic/vertical territory, concentrating on the solicitation of new and profitable business while retaining existing business. The Director of National Sales will merchandize the guest rooms and function space to maximize revenue and ensure the best meeting experience, achieve monthly guest‑night and revenue goals, develop and implement sales action plans, maintain positive interdepartmental communication, and complete special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales. Responsibilities Actively solicit and manage a major market on behalf of the hotel. Plan and maintain regular communication with key hotel accounts and solicit additional business. Communicate with or meet parties interested in hotel services and assess needs and profitability. Prepare proposals for rooms, events, F&B, convention or meeting space, pricing, dates, and locations that maximize guest satisfaction and profitability. Negotiate, prepare, and review contract terms under supervision of Director of Sales. Meet or exceed prospecting and revenue targets as determined by hotel management. Execute and manage internal processes to reserve and confirm negotiated contracts, including blocking rooms, meeting space, and catering requirements. Assist the Director of Sales to stimulate productivity of all sales staff through guidance, development, and support. Assist the Director of Sales in developing and implementing the budgeting and forecasting process for the hotel. Promote high visibility of the hotel through active involvement in industry associations and trade shows. Provide mentorship and professional development to lower‑level sales employees. Support and promote all corporate programs to increase customer awareness of Omni Hotels. Maintain timely attendance at the assigned work location. Interact and communicate positively with guests, prospective guests, key accounts, coworkers, and visitors. Use computer and electronic devices and related software effectively to communicate and prepare reports and analyses of sales activity. Plan, prioritize, and implement sales strategies, manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Complete assigned tasks and projects in a timely manner as directed by hotel management. Contribute to and support the maintenance of a safe working environment, performing all work in compliance with hotel safety standards and legal requirements. Comply with Hotel and Corporate policies and all applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Attend and contribute to regular meetings of the sales team and hotel leadership, including daily meetings or interactions with the Director of Sales regarding occupancy and business forecasts. Qualifications History of exceeding production goals year after year. Proven track record in group sales and market development. Strong closing skills. Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to develop strategic sales plans with measurable results. Execute compelling site inspections that lead to impressive closing ratios. Creativity in sales proposals to advance business opportunities. Experience working with highly experienced Global Sales Offices. Ability to up‑sell and a strong knowledge of F&B, Spa, Retail and AV sales. Ability to create and deliver impactful presentations. Proactively explore networking opportunities. Command and mastery of Delphi Salesforce. Lifelong learner with completion of professional sales development programs. Community leadership experience. Associate degree (bachelor’s preferred) and/or 3‑5 years of sales experience in a luxury resort environment. At least 5 years’ experience as a Sales Manager in hotels, preferably a convention hotel. Outstanding selling skills.
