Office Location: Position can be located in either Stuart, FL or Maitland, FL
The Flood Specialist will provide service to the Loan Operations department as the Subject-Matter-Expert for Reg H in supporting Ops, Commercial, Consumer and the Residential Lines of Business. This role will be responsible to ensure the Life of Loan flood process starting with determinations and ending with ongoing adequate flood coverage is adhered to pursuant to procedures, Regulations and Credit Policy. Collaborates with a wide variety of partners, supporting operational as well as risk-related activities, producing results which are then reported and communicated back to the appropriate stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with the Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA), Reg H
- Communicate and document gaps in compliance with FDPA
- Provide credible challenge to senior business partners
- Support internal and external Flood QA reporting
- Cross-train team members on processes and complexities of LOBs supported
- Escalate issues identified with reviews, scorecards, and technology systems
- Provide ongoing recommendations for improvements by incorporating emerging and key business risks
- Supports regulatory exams, Compliance and Audit requests related to the Flood
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- 5+ years of financial service experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, commercial, consumer and residential lending, and Flood insurance preferred
- Proven ability to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, and collaborate with business and functional experts to provide guidance and to recognize risks and gaps
- Excellent organizational and time management skills - ability to remain flexible and productive through shifting priorities and deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to achieve deadlines and deliver quality results and meet tight deadlines within a team environment
- Self-motivated and confident decision-maker with the ability to demonstrate leadership and drive process improvement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence business leaders in a meaningful and actionable manner
- Ability to make subjective and informed decisions based upon output to justify decision making
- Excels in using Microsoft suite; Teams, Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and able to quickly learn various other tools/platforms
- Knowledge of Commercial, Retail and Residential Banking, and functional areas
- Elevated level of professionalism and sense of urgency
