A Brief Overview

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing quality care for patients and increasing patient access and satisfaction. Standard tasks to be performed by a Nurse Practitioner as specified by the Ohio State Nursing Board and UH entity specific Medical Bylaws

What You Will Do

HVI North Ohio heart is seeking a dedicated Electrophysiology Nurse Practitioner to join our team.  In this role, you will have a primary focus on providing comprehensive care to outpatients and facilitating procedures such as pacemaker insertions, defibrillator insertions, loop records, and ablations just to name a few. Your responsibilities will include assisting the Electrophysiologists with patient evaluations, procedure education, and post-procedure follow up care.  The candidate will work Monday – Friday in the outpatient electrophysiology clinic and will also assist with management of anticoagulant patients.

  • Contributes to the educational development of staff, patients, family and self (5%)
  • Demonstrates progressive leadership and effective management (5%)
  • Provides education through role modeling and in-services to meet identified learning needs and to promote professionalism (5%)
  • Advances own professional development through self-directed learning, continuing education and participation in peer review (5%)

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications

Education
  • (MSN) Master's Degree in Nursing (Required)
Work Experience
  • 1+ years as a Nurse Practitioner (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Demonstrated leadership skills. (Required proficiency)
  • Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships (Required proficiency)
  • Computer skills to access patient medical data from UHHS mainframe. (Required proficiency)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook. (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required) and
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the State of Ohio (Required) and
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required) and
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
  • Current APRN License (Required)
