- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certified
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Must-Have:
- Previous experience in an Emergency Room setting

Job Description:
- Provide direct and indirect patient care in emergency, acute care, outpatient, and swing bed settings, demonstrating initiative, flexibility, and responsibility.
- Safely, rapidly, and accurately triage patients upon entry into the emergency department, prioritizing care based on physical and psychosocial needs.
- Communicate effectively with attending providers about changes in patient status, symptomatology, and diagnostic study results.
- Respond promptly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment responses.
- Evaluate patient outcomes, consult with staff, and adjust nursing care processes for optimal patient care.
- Complete orientation packets and checklists as assigned.
- Cross-train to utilize new equipment.
- Perform comprehensive assessments and reassessments, including head-to-toe evaluations for pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general patient populations.
- Use the triage process to ensure timely, appropriate patient care, assigning accurate triage categories.
- Assess and reassess pain, utilizing suitable pain management techniques and educating patients and families about pain management.
- Document pain assessments and reassessments consistently in the electronic health record.
- Monitor hemodynamic status and interpret results accurately, identifying dysrhythmias and treating them appropriately.
- Perform point-of-care testing following clinical laboratory and unit policies, interpreting results and taking appropriate action.
- Maintain knowledge of medication administration, following medication rights to prevent errors.
- Prepare, hang, monitor, and discontinue IV fluids using aseptic techniques.
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation, including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses, and assessment changes.
- Perform patient care in an environment that optimizes safety and reduces healthcare errors.
- Follow provider orders from electronic medical records consistently.
- Support and maintain a culture of safety and quality.
- Treat patients and families with respect and dignity, addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs.
- Act as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles to provide age-appropriate patient care.
- Interact professionally with patients and families, involving them in care plan development.
- Perform related duties as assigned by management.

Holiday coverage is required. The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used is Meditech.
