We are a team of forward-looking professionals in need of a strong candidate with key required skills: WebSphere / Liberty Server Administration, IBM MQ / RDQM, Deployment Automation (Bitbucket, Jenkins, Nexus), and UrbanCode Deploy/Velocity. This position will require onsite work in Woodlawn, MD five days a week.Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesDevelop, design, code, and implement next-generation deployment automation and applications using system/software engineering best practices and the latest technologies: DevOps (Jenkins, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker).Implement Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration-as-Code (UrbanCode Deploy, Ansible, Scripting).Enable Event Driven Architecture / Message Queuing.Administer IBM Liberty / WebSphere Application Server—including installing, migrating, upgrading, deploying, troubleshooting, and configuring on Linux.Provide engineering contributions in one or more of these areas: software deployment, application monitoring and performance tuning, event-driven architecture, container orchestration, security, auto-scaling & application reliability engineering.Work closely and collaboratively with a small, tightly knit, high-performing team of Leidos engineers and customer technical leads.Investigate and repair application defects with development team regardless of component: front-end, business logic, middleware, queue, UCD script, CI/CD pipeline, or database (PL/SQL and Data Modeling).Triage Java exceptions and tune JVM/application server.Brief management, customer, team, or vendors using written and oral skills at an appropriate technical level for the audience.Perform all other duties as assigned or directed.Required QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, OR Master’s with 2+ years of relevant experience. Additional years may be accepted or considered in lieu of a degree.5+ years of combined experience with software development, deployment, automation, systems/application analysis, and design.3+ years of combined experience with Application Server Administration (WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Liberty) and IBM MQ / RDQM.2+ years of combined experience with deployment automation tools (Bitbucket, Jenkins, Nexus, UrbanCode Deploy).Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (Contract requirement).Core SkillsHands‑on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server administration on Linux.Hands‑on experience with IBM MQ and RDQM administration on Linux.Solid experience using Deployment Automation tools (Bitbucket, Jenkins, Nexus).Strong experience in automating tasks with scripting languages like Shell, Python.Experience developing build scripts using Apache Ant and Apache Maven.Basic knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration.Solid experience with version control software such as Git/Bitbucket.Basic knowledge with Java EE applications, including deployment, monitoring, and triage.Solid experience automating application deployments for WebSphere using IBM UrbanCode Deploy / Velocity.Desired QualificationsPreferred experience with AWS cloud technologies or other cloud platforms; AWS cloud certifications.Experience with AWS administration (EC2, S3, ELB, EBS/EFS/S3).Experience with PaaS using Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes and Docker containers.Experience with Kafka administration.Basic experience with configuration management and provisioning tools (Ansible automation, CloudFormation / Terraform).Additional InformationExpected salary: $72,150 – $130,425 per yearLocation: Baltimore, MDJob date: Fri, 23 May 2025 06:43:45 GMTApply for this job now #J-18808-Ljbffr
