SUMMARY: Perform all soldering, bonding, wiring, routing, assembly, disassembly, touch up, rework, cleaning and minor modifications, assemblies and subassemblies within the facility using electronic parts and components and a variety of hand tools. Work from approved visual aids, change notices (CN’s), deviations and routes and/or any engineer approved changes (redlines) that apply to them. Move completed product to the next production operation. Use a variety of measuring instruments and equipment to perform visual and dimensional inspection of printed circuit boards, harnesses, subassemblies, and assemblies. Inspects assemblies after machine soldering and completing required paperwork, logs, and records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for soldering of electronic components into assemblies following J-STD-001 workmanship processes.
- Perform visual inspection of PCB’s to IPC-A-610 criteria.
- Assemble components and housing units in accordance with routes, visual aids, change notices (CN’s) and deviations; Installs hardware such as: screws, washers, nuts and bolts, bending and trimming leads.
- Operate a Windows PC to access job documentation (visual aid, route, etc.) and maintain required logs.
- Perform visual inspection of units for proper assembly, solder defects, damaged components, polarity and orientation to ensure workmanship standards are met.
- Modify new and repaired units to the current revision per modification instructions.
- Follow safety rules and keep work area in clean and orderly condition.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Familiar with Manufacturing Processes and Workmanship Standards.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Ability to use various hand, air, and soldering tools.
- Ability to identify electronic components.
- Ability to frequently lift/carry products weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to use manual dexterity and basic mathematics.
- Ability to work with a microscope and other magnification devices as needed.
- Ability to work with with others and with minimum supervision.
