Saint Simons By-the-Sea is a 101-bed psychiatric and addictive disease hospital for adults and adolescents. We strive to provide quality mental health treatment and addiction treatment services in the area. Located on Saint Simons Island, Ga., Saint Simons By-The-Sea's serene island setting ensures privacy and anonymity, enabling the patient to concentrate on recovery.


Our hospital is conveniently located within driving distance of Jacksonville, FL, Savannah, GA, and other surrounding cities in the South Georgia and Northern Florida region.

In 2024, we are enhancing our patient ratios with additional nursing staff. Our nursing teams feature a top-of-license approach utilizing a reliable cohort of RNs, LPNs & Techs all dedicated to patient safety and quality care.

The Director of Admissions is a key member of the St Simons By-the-Sea Leadership Team who is responsible for leading and supporting the purpose and procedure of the entire admission process. The purpose of this role is to ensure that the level of treatment and clinical services is appropriate to all patient needs.


Job Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Accountable for the performance of the Intake Department consistent with the mission of the organization; ensure appropriate department staffing based on activity levels and trends
  • Assess call management performance, intake assessment process, review records, and report and communicate with staff and patients to assure the effective delivery of intakes
  • Responsible for implementation and compliance with department policies and procedures; provide direction and training for all intake staff
  • Communicate and collaborate with program departments to facilitate an efficient transition of customer into the treatment milieu
  • Work collaboratively with the Call Center staff, Utilization Review staff, Program Leaders and direct care staff; assure information is communicated effectively internally, as well as externally, to patients, families and referral sources

Requirements:


  • Master’s Degree in a clinical area such as Counseling or Social Work OR a Georgia Nursing License
  • 5 years’ experience in the mental health field
  • Clinical experience in psychiatric setting
  • Situational evaluation and crisis intervention experience preferred
