JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Nut ri t i o n C ar e Representative (NCR) is a "point person" for food service issues affecting patients, other nut ri t i o n services staff and nursing service staff. The NCR is responsible for assisting patients with menu selection and ensuring that patients receive meals and nourishments in accordance with diet prescriptions and individual preferences.

Duties include :

  • S creening patients for nut ri t i o n al risk .
  • T aking patient food orders over the phone and entering them into our computer system MICROS .
  • U pdating patient information into our ordering system, GemServe , as required .
  • C orrecting menu choices under supervision and alerting the supervisor and clinical nut ri t i o n staff to any patient issues.
  • Visiting patient rooms to assist with ordering meals.
  • Other duties may include serving patient trays and nourishments.


EDUCATION:

High School Graduate or GEDrequired.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of one year experience in food service or patient care. College course work in clinical nut ri t i o n or nut ri t i o n therapy may be substituted for work experience.
