We are recruiting for a Communications Director (Executive Assistant 1) to support the Executive Office.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Full Time, 40 hours per week
  • 1st Shift, Monday - Friday
  • Centrally located in downtown Hartford, close to major highways

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)

Acts as an executive assistant to a state elective officer or department head as defined in Section 4-5 of the Connecticut General Statutes and performs such duties as are assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience within state government, particularly state finances.
  • Strong relationship with Connecticut media.
  • Experience with digital advertising and/or print placement.
  • Familiarity with the Connecticut legislative process.
  • Experience managing third-party communications vendors.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience with social media content creation, photography/videography, and graphic/web design.
