ABOUT US:
The Office of the State Treasurer exists to provide and ensure effective financial management of public resources, high standards of professionalism and integrity, and expanding opportunity for State of Connecticut residents and businesses. We are recruiting for a Communications Director (Executive Assistant 1) to support the Executive Office.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
- Full Time, 40 hours per week
- 1st Shift, Monday - Friday
- Centrally located in downtown Hartford, close to major highways

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
Acts as an executive assistant to a state elective officer or department head as defined in Section 4-5 of the Connecticut General Statutes and performs such duties as are assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience within state government, particularly state finances.
- Strong relationship with Connecticut media.
- Experience with digital advertising and/or print placement.
- Familiarity with the Connecticut legislative process.
- Experience managing third-party communications vendors.
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience with social media content creation, photography/videography, and graphic/web design.
