Additional Pay Info: A $750 signing bonus is available after 90 and 180 day requirements are met. We also reward our new hires with an opportunity to earn more per hour after approximately 6 and 12 months of hire.
OVERVIEW:
U.S. Engine Valve has openings for Machine Operators (a.k.a. Product Technicians) that are actively involved in our machining operations. These roles are for operating automated machines (i.e. NOT assembly) and verifying part quality, along with ensuring tool/material changes occur at required intervals.
USEV roles are not "button pushing" type positions (see "Essential Functions" section below). Training is a minimum of 6 weeks; more training is given if necessary. The roles are Monday-Friday, with mandatory weekend OT.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Sets up, operates and maintains production machinery to perform close tolerance operations of any of the following: shearing, friction welding, heat treating, grinding, turning, drilling, etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Operates production equipment according to guidelines and in a safe manner
• Performs set-ups and light maintenance of equipment. Troubleshoot equipment when required.
• Maintains proper oil and coolant levels of machines, where applicable.
• Adjusts machines, tooling, and wheels to keep product within specified tolerances.
• Completes production documentation (first piece approvals, tagging, scrap tickets, etc.) accurately and neatly.
• Use specified gauges to ensure proper product tolerances.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 6 months manufacturing (machining experience) preferred
