Managing Director of Industry Partnerships, Stanford SystemX Alliance NOTE: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Our faculty and students are creative risk-takers who pursue excellence across a breadth of disciplines. Stanford SystemX Alliance is seeking a Managing Director of Industry Partnerships. The successful applicant will have the ability to nurture ties with our current affiliates, as well as to drive new partnerships with both established and emerging companies. In addition to having a strong technical background in electrical engineering, exceptional diplomatic, interpersonal and communications skills are essential, as the candidate will be working at the interface between companies and faculty, and often with students as well. In this role, you will: Lead and oversee development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of programs. Lead strategic planning for the program/entity. Represent the entity or program to the broader university, external community, and other stakeholders. Develop outreach strategy related to program communications, development, partnerships and fundraising/funding. Teach or co-teach courses; oversee the administration of courses; and/or advise students. Coach and mentor program staff. *Other duties as assigned. Education & Experience (Required): Advanced degree and five years of relevant experience in area of specialization or combination of relevant education, training, and/or experience. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (Required): Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources. Advanced oral, written, and analytical skills. Ability to oversee and direct staff. Ability to manage budgets and develop financial plans. Understanding of relevant scientific, engineering, or technical disciplines. Ability to problem solve. Strong customer relationship and consensus building skills. Working Conditions: Local and international travel to visit existing and prospective affiliates may be required. Physical Requirements: Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks. Work Standards: Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates the ability to work well with Stanford colleagues and clients. Promote Culture of Safety: Demonstrates commitment to personal responsibility and value for safety. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.
