summary POSITION SUMMARY: Entry level to highly experienced position that will involve preparing, splicing, and installing miscellaneous components on seismic cables. ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS: Measuring and cutting cables to a specified length Stripping insulation and preparing wires of electrical termination Soldering wires and connectors Respooling cables Preparing splices for molding Mixing and applying various potting metals Work inspection Prepare cables for shipment Perform other related duties as necessary SKILLS NECESSARY TO PERFORM POSITION DUTIES: Must be able to use soldering iron, heat knife, measuring tape and heat gun Must be able to lift 50 pounds Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time Maintain clean work area TYPICAL EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent required-skills: High school diplomarequired-experience: 1+ yrs
