About This Job

  • The Allergy and Clinical Immunology Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an expert Practitioner in allergy and immunology care, executing position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex patient care.
  • The NP is a key member of a team delivering care to a panel of allergy and immunology patients for which s/he has responsibility in the planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of care related outcomes.
PARTICIPATORY MANAGEMENT

  • Utilizes time and materials effectively.
  • Participates in the orientation of new staff members, students and others as appropriate. Provides input into the evaluation of other staff as appropriate.
  • Adheres to hospital and departmental policies. Recommends changes in policies and procedures.

    • Master’s in Nursing (MSN) (or) DNP (or) PhD Degree in Nursing required. Completion of a Master’s or post Masters’ degree in adult or family NP program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
    • Allergy / Clinical Immunology experience required.
    • 5-10years of clinical experience in hospital or community-based practice setting – strongly preferred.
    • Experience working in a large complex health care organizations preferable.

    • Ability to manage meetings to encourage participation and achieve results
    • Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills
    • Demonstrated effectiveness as a team leader, member and facilitator
    • Ability to manage time and resources effectively to meet program deadlines and objectives
    • Problem-solving ability, data management and analysis
    • Ability to perform in fast-paces office, clinical and patient home settings
    • Knowledge of evidence based practice and assures clinical practice within the program is evidence-based
    • Ability to function clinically both as an autonomous provider and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a variety of clinical and administrative staff
    • Ability to function at the highest level professionally and clinically, possess excellent interpersonal skills

    Working Conditions

    • Administrative office, ambulatory settings
    • Working conditions may include busy and sometime stressful patient care encounters, and environments where there may be exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials
    • Fast paced office and clinical setting
    • Frequent, daily use of computer, telephone, fax machine
    • Occasional early or late meetings
    • Internal and external presentations

    HOSPITAL WIDE RESPONSIBILITIES: These are required of all staff, regardless of position. br>
    Works within legal, regulatory, accreditation and ethical practice standards relevant to the position and as established by BWH/Partners; complies with appropriate BWH and Partners policies and procedures; fulfills any training required by BWH and/or Partners, as appropriate; brings potential matters of non-compliance to the attention of the supervisor or other appropriate hospital staff.
