Description

Responsible to direct Stitcher with Inkjet operations to provide a product which meets customer quality and time requirements while meeting company profitability requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Comply with security guidelines set by Nahan to protect our customers.
  2. Answer phone, do basic production related duties and keep schedule on track in absence of Shift Leader.
  3. Inspect cost center processes to determine that they are done properly, and quality standards are followed.
  4. Read and understand postal specs and be able to follow the sign-off.
  5. Complete sortation training and understand bagging requirements.
  6. Learn, understand, and follow all established processes associated with the operation of the Ink Jet controller and all in-line equipment.
  7. Setup, operate and maintain the Ink Jet and all associated in-line equipment.
  8. Perform helper duties, including setting up stations and sortation and bagging requirements.
  9. Setup, run and maintain all cards feeding equipment.
  10. Set up, run, and maintain pocket feeders and all related equipment.
  11. Set up, run, and maintain poly wrapper and all related equipment.
  12. Set up machine in the correct manner and assure that the job is lined up and measured correctly according to job ticket and dylux.
  13. Teach and train operation and basic troubleshooting of Stitcher.
  14. Do make readies proficiently, pockets, stitcher heads, cover feeder, etc.
  15. Repair and rebuild stitcher heads.
  16. Change knives on trim systems proficiently.
  17. Adjust/change gathering chain.
  18. Demonstrate leadership in working with operators, Helpers, and temps, etc.

Requirements

Skills Abilities Required:
  1. Ability to operate secondary piece of equipment preferred.
  2. Ink jet and controller knowledge preferred.
  3. Knowledge of procedures in other departments (Press, Direct Mail, Shipping/Receiving, Distribution, etc.)
  4. Knowledge of Finishing equipment, materials, and products.
  5. Computer experience.
  6. Ability to train and coach.
  7. Strong leadership skills.
  8. Strong communication skills (written, verbal and listening).
  9. Physical effort - refer to physical demand analysis.
