Job Details Job Title: Software Architect (Java) Interview Format: Video Conference (MS Teams) Work Schedule: Full Time – 40 Hours/Week Location: Alfred E. Smith Building, 80 South Swan Street, Albany, NY Work Type: Hybrid (up to 50% remote) Project Duration: 30 Months Project: CCH Modernization Rate: $50 to $55 per hour Overview The Expert Software Architect will design, architect, and implement enterprise-level software solutions as part of a large modernization initiative. This role requires strong technical leadership, deep experience with Java/JEE technologies, and the ability to guide development teams in building scalable, secure, and high-quality applications. Responsibilities Implement application development standards, including UI guidelines, coding standards, and development methodologies. Serve as the primary technical liaison with infrastructure teams to resolve performance issues and improve application functionality. Support infrastructure activities including performance testing, failover planning, endurance testing, and deployment readiness. Design, develop, and review enterprise applications using Java/JEE, JSF, XML, XSLT, IBM Portal, and WebSphere tools. Oversee development tasks including data modeling, data analysis, data manipulation, testing, and implementation. Prepare and review technical documentation such as design documents, schemas, and architecture diagrams. Mandatory Qualifications 7+ years of experience providing technical guidance to large teams or equivalent expert-level industry experience at the top of the field. Desired Qualifications 7+ years of experience guiding iterative development teams designing and integrating complex JEE-based systems involving data structures, algorithms, and enterprise architecture. 7+ years of experience developing applications using JDK 1.8 or higher with JSF/JSP. 6+ years of experience working with JMS, EJB, MQ 6.0+, XML, JAXB, and JAX-WS. 6+ years of experience using JPA and/or Hibernate with Oracle or SQL Server databases. 4+ years of experience using PrimeFaces, Angular, or ReactJS. 2+ years of experience using IBM WebSphere Liberty. #J-18808-Ljbffr
