OverviewJoin to apply for the CPEP/ED Nurse Practitioner role at SB CLINICAL PRACTICE MANAGEMENT PLAN INCResponsibilitiesConduct psychiatric evaluations/assessments, psychopharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, and determine level-of-care recommendations for individuals presenting in the psychiatric emergency room (CPEP and Emergency Department).Engage families and obtain collateral history as needed for accurate assessments.Collaborate with ED, CPEP, Adult Inpatient & Consultation Liaison physicians, ED nurses, social workers and counselors in screening, intervention, referrals to treatment and discharge planning.Provide education to staff and trainees.Address common conditions such as delirium, behavioral symptoms associated with dementia, depression and anxiety, elevated suicide risk, and substance use disorders.Be assigned to hospital units such as ED and CPEP and perform duties as assigned.ScheduleFull-time, afternoon shift. Preferably four 10-hour shifts per week, from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM, including weekends.QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Nurse Practitioner: Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Nursing. Nurse Practitioner Certification in Psychiatry. Valid New York State license as a Nurse Practitioner.Physician Assistant: Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) from ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program. NYS Physician Assistant license. NCCPA certified or must have in possession by start date.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Nurse Practitioner: Clinical experience in acute psychiatric settings and/or consultation-liaison psychiatry, teaching experience. Experience in de-escalation techniques.Physician Assistant: Clinical experience in acute psychiatric settings and/or consultation-liaison psychiatry, teaching experience.
