**Job Description**

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for the planning, managing and coordination of daily activities. You will oversee the warehouse shipping and receiving activities, as well as supervises the associates (if available). This position is responsible for forecasting the staffing and supply needs in order to meet projected productivity and expense budgets. This position reports to the Purchasing and Contracts Manager. Work is typically performed in a warehouse setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position.

**Role Responsibilities**

* Directs the day-to-day activities of the department by effectively leading and taking responsibility for the performance of associates.

* Develops a strong team environment, including pre-shift meetings, strong floor presence and excellent follow-up.

* Understands, implements, and carries out all policies, procedures and standards including but not limited to Company, Quality Management Systems, and OSHA.

* Provides information to generate reports with regards to productivity and accuracy.

* Continuous evaluation of departmental workflow, layout, material handling, storage, and equipment, providing recommendations for enhancements as identified.

* Understands and takes an actively role as a lead in managing company logistics.

* Accuracy and quality of all products received, stored, and processed to customers.

* Timely and accurate processing of all data entry into ERP system.

* Accuracy and quality of all shipments to vendors/customers/etc.

* Routine quality controls and preventative measures

* Timely and accurate processing of freight claims.

* Support procurement as needed resolving shipment discrepancies.

* Safety guidelines and best practices are continuously reviewed, monitored, and executed.

* Supervisory Responsibilities

**Qualifications**

* Must have a high school diploma or GED

* 5 years experience in a distributed warehouse environment

* Knowledge of computerized Warehouse Management System and processes, paperless processing technologies experience is desirable (to support future implementation).

* Hands-on distribution experience including shipping, receiving and inventory control

* Experience managing work through Quality Management Systems procedures and metrics.

* Must be detailed oriented, strive for perfection, have strong attention to details, personal drive, and initiative.

* Extensive knowledge in Office 365.

* Strong communication and great interpersonal skills.

* Flexible to changes in business activities, able to adapt quickly and redirect efforts/resources.

* Must be able to work extended hours and weekends if required.

* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

* Basic math skills, plus strong Excel skills

* Warehouse / Industrial Environment. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
