*Heritage Pointe has a Controller opportunity* The controller position (located in Warren, IN) is responsible for working closely with the CFO to support the financial responsibilities of the organization. The controller is responsible for daily accounting activities, monthly close transactions, the production of financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. The controller is also the point person for required filings throughout the year. The controller will adhere to deadlines and complete tasks with a high degree of detail and accuracy. *Essential Job Functions*

* Support the day-to-day accounting activities of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.

* Complete month end close in a timely manner. Book journal entries, create financial reports, and distribute to stakeholders.

* Process the payroll GL file, create intercompany transfers, and submit funding.

* Serve as backup for payroll processing functions.

* Complete balance sheet account reconciliations across different companies.

* Ensure contributions are recorded properly, and restrictions are maintained and managed.

* Produce and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to stakeholders including senior leadership, department managers, banks, and bond holders.

* Act as point person for annual financial audits, cost reports, and 990 tax return. Prepare workpapers and required schedules for audits and regulatory filings.

* Support the operating and capital budget process.

* Establish rapport in and between departments so each can see the importance of accurate data input and output procedures.

* Job Qualifications*

* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

* Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA, CPA, or CMA designation.

* Current understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, health care reimbursement, continuing care retirement community regulations, IRS codes, ERISA, and other industry applicable laws and regulations.

* Demonstrated advanced competence with Microsoft Excel and an enterprise level general ledger application.

* Attention to detail with the ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects.
