About TrustLab
Online misinformation, hate speech, child endangerment, and extreme violence are some of the world's most critical and complex problems. TrustLab is a fast-growing, VC-backed startup, founded by ex-Google, TikTok and Reddit executives determined to use software engineering, ML, and data science to tackle these challenges and make the internet healthier and safer for everyone. If you're interested in working with the world's largest social media companies and online platforms, and building technologies to mitigate these issues, you've come to the right place.
About the role
- As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) at TrustLab, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our most critical and complex initiatives. You will work cross-functionally with customers, engineering teams, and product managers to define, plan, and execute projects that deliver high-impact solutions in a very fast paced, start-up environment. Your ability to communicate technical requirements, manage timelines, and navigate the challenges of both internal and customer-facing projects will ensure smooth execution and delivery toward shared goals. This role will be part of the core product team at TrustLab and reports to the Director of Products. Although the role is remote, candidates must be located in one of the following states: CA, TX, MT, CO.

Includes identification of potential risks, dependencies, and roadblocks early on, developing mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Technical Expertise: Partner with engineering teams to ensure a deep understanding of the technical architecture and constraints, and translate them into actionable plans.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and our policy and operations team to define project goals, scope, and technical requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion best practices for software development, agile methodologies, and program management to drive operational excellence. Facilitate regular retrospective sessions with key stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Management: Track progress, communicate updates, and ensure stakeholder alignment. Identify and address risks to keep projects on track.
- Customer Focus: Orchestrating early adopter programs with 5-10 customers, understanding customer needs and pain points to ensure that products and solutions meet their expectations and business goals.
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with software engineering or development is a plus.
- Industry Experience: Prior experience in Trust & Safety is desirable, but not required.
- Certifications: PMP, Scrum Master, or equivalent certifications are an advantage.
- Experience: 4+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, Project Manager, or in a similar role within a tech company.
- Foundational: Strong understanding of software development processes and engineering best practices. Experience working with product and engineering teams to deliver complex technical projects including excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Customer-Facing Experience & Problem-Solving: Proven experience interacting with customers or external stakeholders, translating their needs into technical requirements, and managing expectations. Possess grit to identify and creatively remove obstacles.
- Tools & Methodologies: Experience with Agile methodologies and familiarity with project management tools like JIRA, Confluence, Figma, Trello, etc.
- Competitive total compensation package with stock options at a rapidly growing Series A, VC-backed startup
