This position is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned region to ensure achievement of maximum profitability and growth. Establishes plans and strategies for the designated region to expand the customer base.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversees the overall planning, administration, direction, operation, and control of region
- Achieves location major objectives that support company strategy
- Assists with the development of marketing programs and with the implementation to include establishing profit objectives for critical operating tasks
- Understands P&L statement to respond to inquiries regarding revenues, costs and expenses
- Recommends and assists with the development of market criteria, pricing and promotional plans
- Creates new distribution channels to contribute to the development of new opportunities in the marketplace
- Participates in the annual sales planning by forecasting business
- Establishes and maintains effective customer rapport to contribute to a mutually beneficial business relationship with clients
- Manages brokers including RFPs, negotiating contracts and directing support to ensure regional objectives are met
- Responsible for category management by analyzing Nielson analytics in order to develop presentations and present metrics for increasing sales and profitability
- Hires, trains, supervises, and establishes schedules, work assignments, project plans, career development, performance goals and evaluations, alongside resolving disciplinary concerns, and/or termination of assigned personnel
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field
- Five (5) years' of sales and supplier relationship management experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience
- Prior category management experience using market data
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Effective written, verbal and presentation skills, with ability to present to all staff levels
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills with attention to details
- Ability to handle multiple and competing priorities
- Ability to self-motivate and possess independent problem solving
- Effective relationship building skills
- Efficient project management skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
